Decades before the rise of the suvivalist right and the militia movement, the Reverend Dallas Roquemore authored this manual for right wing Christians on how to survive an invasion by the “anti-Christ forces of Godless Russia” by taking to the mountains. Following an introduction by fellow far right pastor Kenneth Goff (who was also one of the book’s primary distributors), the guide begins with a chapter on procuring food, including how to hunt animals and how to forage for plants, berries, mushrooms, and insects. Subsequent chapters discuss wilderness clothing, constructing under and above ground shelters, traps and trapping, tools and weapons, medicine and first aid, communications, etc. In a section on guerrilla warfare, Roquemore describes various combat tactics, mosty based on Native American fighting techniques, and discusses different ways of disfiguring dead enemy combatants as a warning to others. The book is illustrated throughout by the author’s own drawings.
